Posted on 31/03/2025

At the plenary session on June 21, the Milli Majlis (parliament), on the initiative of the ruling New Azerbaijan party, prepared an appeal to Aliyev with the initiative to call early parliamentary elections. The fact is that the next vote is scheduled for early November 2024, which coincides with the COP29 climate conference in Baku. Deputy Chairman of the party Tair Budagov noted that deputies consider the dissolution of parliament and early elections expedient.

On June 27, at the request of Aliyev, the plenum of the Constitutional Court of Azerbaijan recognized such a step as consistent with the main law of the country.
