According to the department, the project to create a shipyard* in the Kazakh sector of the Caspian Sea is being developed jointly with the Turkish companies YDA and ASFAT.
“The implementation of the project involves investment from Turkish partners,” the Ministry of Industry clarified.
At the moment, the Kazakh side is working to determine the location of the shipyard, taking into account the connection to existing transport hubs and logistics.
The partnership is necessary to meet the country’s needs for the production and repair of small and large vessels. Cooperation will also be aimed at modernizing existing production facilities and creating modern maritime infrastructure in the Caspian Sea, the department notes.
The start date for construction of the shipyard will be determined based on the results of negotiations and the conclusion of relevant agreements.
Previously, LS reported plans to build this production facility on the Caspian coast. Then investors from two countries became interested in the project.
